The vagrant collared flycatcher (Ficedula albicollis) in Saint Petersburg, Russia, in April of 2012
// Berkut. Vol. 24. № 1. 2015. P. 74–75
Keywords: fauna, North-West Russia, distribution, range, vagrancy
We have watched a male Collared Flycatcher actively singing in trees in a plot of the long-boled spruce and deciduous forest of the Pavlovsk park (59° 41′ N, 30° 27′ E), Saint Petersburg, NW Russia, 21 April 2012. This individual was obviously vagrant, since it strayed far outside its known migrating, wintering or breeding range (about 500 km from the closest known places of breeding in the Tver region, Russia).
